Cervical spondylosis is a general term for age-related mileage affecting the vertebral plates of the neck. As the plaques dry out and recede, signs of osteoarthritis develop, including hard protrusions along the edges of the bones (bony spikes). Cervical osteoarthritis is normal and worsens with age. More than 85% of people over 60 are affected by cervical spondylosis. Many people experience no signs of these problems. When symptoms appear, non-surgical medications are often effective.
